How to Choose the Right Resistance?

Although the physical structure of Nautilus coil options looks similar, not every coil is suitable for every Nautilus device. The tank's airflow channel, the power output of your mod, and your vaping style directly affect the resistance you should choose.

While high-resistance 1.6Ω and 1.8Ω BVC options offer a tighter MTL draw and lower power consumption, 0.4Ω and 0.7Ω Mesh options provide an airier draw, warmer vapor, and higher e-liquid consumption.

Important: Not all Nautilus coils found in the product options are compatible with all Nautilus tanks. Do not place an order without checking the resistance and device table below.
Coil Options and Usage Ranges
Nautilus 2 Coil 0.7Ω 18–23W

Features a Nichrome BVC structure. Developed for users seeking a balanced MTL or light RDL draw.

Nautilus BVC 1.6Ω 7–11W

A classic BVC option suitable for tight MTL draws, low power consumption, and 50/50 ratio e-liquids.

Nautilus BVC 1.8Ω 10–14W

Designed for classic MTL vaping. One of the best options for older generation tanks like Nautilus and Nautilus Mini.

Nautilus AIO NS 1.8Ω 10–12W

The version with a green O-ring and "NS" marking. Specially developed for Nautilus AIO and 50/50 salt e-liquid use.

Nautilus 2S Coil 0.4Ω 23–28W

A Nichrome coil option developed for airier RDL draws and denser vapor. Not suitable for high-nicotine salt e-liquids.

Nautilus 2S Mesh 0.7Ω 20–25W

Aims for faster response and balanced flavor delivery with its mesh heating surface. Suitable for modern Nautilus tanks.

The Aspire Nautilus family also includes newer coil options such as 1.0Ω Mesh (13–15W) and 0.3Ω Mesh (23–28W). These resistances can only be purchased through this package if they appear in the product options.
Device and Coil Compatibility Table
Device or Tank Recommended Coils Not Recommended / Incompatible
Aspire Nautilus / Nautilus Mini 1.6Ω BVC and 1.8Ω BVC Aspire does not recommend using 0.7Ω and 0.4Ω due to performance considerations
Aspire Nautilus 2 0.7Ω BVC, 1.6Ω BVC, and 1.8Ω BVC 0.4Ω and Nautilus AIO 1.8Ω NS are not suitable
Aspire Nautilus 2S 0.4Ω, 0.7Ω BVC, 1.6Ω, and 1.8Ω BVC Nautilus AIO 1.8Ω NS is not recommended
Nautilus GT / GT II Nautilus BVC, Nautilus 2, Nautilus 2S, and Mesh coil family Wattage appropriate for the resistance must be used
Nautilus 3 / 3S / 3SR / 3²² Current Nautilus BVC and Mesh coil family The recommended power range of the selected coil should be checked
Aspire Mulus 80W Nautilus coil family with standard Nautilus coil adapter/pod Ready-made Nautilus coils cannot be used with the Mulus RBA pod
Aspire Nautilus AIO Especially the green O-ring 1.8Ω NS 0.7Ω and 0.4Ω coils are not suitable
Aspire Spryte AIO Standard 1.6Ω and 1.8Ω BVC can be physically used The NS coil produced for Spryte is 1.2Ω; it should not be confused with the Nautilus AIO 1.8Ω NS
Even in products bearing the same "Nautilus" name, airflow and recommended power may vary. The coil list written in the device's user manual always takes precedence.
Which Coil with Which E-Liquid?
Coil option Vaping style Recommended e-liquid structure
1.8Ω NS Tight MTL Predominantly 50VG/50PG salt e-liquid on Nautilus AIO
1.6Ω and 1.8Ω BVC Tight MTL 50VG/50PG salt or MTL-compatible premium e-liquid
0.7Ω BVC MTL / light RDL 50VG/50PG or approx. 60VG low-nicotine premium e-liquid
0.7Ω Mesh Open MTL / RDL 50–60VG low-nicotine premium e-liquid; high-nicotine salt e-liquid is not recommended
0.4Ω RDL Low-nicotine premium e-liquid; high-nicotine salt e-liquid should not be used
Salt E-Liquid Options

50/50 ratio options especially for low-power MTL coils such as 1.6Ω, 1.8Ω, and Nautilus AIO 1.8Ω NS.

Premium E-Liquid Options

Low-nicotine options should be preferred, especially for 0.4Ω, 0.7Ω, and 0.7Ω Mesh coils.

Explore Premium E-Liquids
Nicotine warning: As coil resistance drops and wattage increases, the amount of e-liquid vaporized per puff increases. Therefore, high-nicotine salt e-liquids should not be used with options operating at higher power, such as 0.4Ω and 0.7Ω.
How to Use a New Coil?
Remove the old coil and completely seat the new coil into your device properly. A loose coil connection can cause connection and firing issues.
Apply a few drops of e-liquid to the visible cotton inlets of the coil. Wait approximately 10–15 minutes after filling the tank or pod.
Start power at the lower level of the range specified on the coil. Increase the wattage in small steps as flavor and vapor settle.
Do not fire when there is no e-liquid in the tank or pod. Firing dry cotton can instantly burn the coil and cause a permanent burnt taste.
To Extend Coil Lifespan
  • Wait for the cotton to fully saturate after installing a new coil.
  • Do not exceed the wattage range specified on the coil.
  • Reach the recommended value gradually starting from a low wattage.
  • Avoid taking very long and frequent puffs back-to-back.
  • Do not let the e-liquid level inside the tank drop below the cotton inlets.
  • Choose e-liquids with a VG/PG ratio appropriate for the coil.
  • Remember that e-liquids with excessive sweeteners and dark colors can foul the coil faster.
A precise lifespan cannot be given for a coil. Frequency of use, wattage value, e-liquid contents, puff duration, and filling habits directly affect coil lifespan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 0.7Ω coil compatible with older Nautilus and Nautilus Mini?

Although it can be attached physically, Aspire does not recommend the 0.7Ω coil due to the airflow structure of older Nautilus and Nautilus Mini tanks. 1.6Ω or 1.8Ω BVC should be preferred for these tanks.

Are 1.8Ω BVC and 1.8Ω NS the same coil?

No. The 1.8Ω NS is the green O-ring and NS-marked Nautilus AIO version. The standard 1.8Ω BVC is the general MTL coil used in classic Nautilus tanks.

Can the 0.4Ω coil be used with Nautilus 2?

Aspire states that the 0.4Ω Nautilus 2S coil is not compatible with the Nautilus 2 tank's airflow channel. 0.7Ω BVC, 1.6Ω, or 1.8Ω BVC should be used for Nautilus 2.

Can Nautilus coils be used in temperature control?

The standard Nichrome BVC and Mesh options on this page are not designed for temperature control. They must be used in variable wattage mode.

Why does a coil give a burnt taste on first use?

The coil cotton may have been fired before soaking sufficiently, the wattage may have been turned up too high, or e-liquid delivery may be insufficient. You should wait 10–15 minutes after filling a new coil.
